  • Check-in starts at 9:00am on the day of the conference at the Otero College Student Center (2001 San Juan Ave, La Junta CO)

    We will have a greeter present at the doors to direct you to the proper check-in table where you will receive your materials for the day.

    Girls, Presenters, and Team Leaders have separate check-in tables.

  • A rough schedule of the day is as follows. The schedule will also be printed in the event program you receive in your materials at check-in.

    9:00 - 9:25am Registration & Breakfast

    9:30 - 10:05am Keynote Address

    10:10 - 11:00am Girls Workshop 1

    11:05 - 11:55am Girls Workshop 2

    12:00 - 12:25pm Lunch at the Kiva

    12:30 - 2:00pm Group Session

    2:00 - 2:30pm Closing Ceremony

  • Registration for the Girls in the Middle Conference costs $5 per attendee. This registration fee covers continental breakfast, lunch, t-shirt swag bag, and a full day of hands-on learning for each attendee.

    We do ask that counselors/sponsors who plan to stay during the day also register and pay a $5 fee so we can ensure to include them in the breakfast/lunch headcount as well as have our hospitality room with complimentary WiFi prepared.

    If for any reason an attendee does not have the funds to pay for registration please reach out to Girls in the Middle directly for information on scholarship funding.

  • Option 1: Provide payment to your school counselor.

    Option 2: Bring payment on the day of the conference and pay at the Check-In table.

    Payment can be made by cash or check. Please make checks payable to “Girls in the Middle - Otero College”

  • There are no adult workshops. Counselors/Sponsors are welcome to join the opening keynote address and the closing slide show. You may enjoy the use of the hospitality room with complimentary WiFi throughout the day.

    We highly encourage allowing the girls their independence to enjoy this experience. Only assigned team leaders are allowed to attend the workshops to supervise and aid the girls.

  • Absolutely! Girls who do not attend a local public school are more than welcome to participate. Please register as you normally. would, we have options for Homeschool and Other on the form. Bring payment when you come for check-in.

    Parent/guardian, if you plan to stay during the day please also register using our Counselor Registration. A $5 fee will need to be paid so we can be sure to include you in the headcount for breakfast and lunch. You are welcome to watch the Keynote Address and use our Hospitality Room with complimentary Wifi during the day.
